Your Plans Are No Match For God's Vision

Every since I was a little girl, I have had plans and goals mapped out for my entire life. It all began with my dreams and desires of being a gymnast that soon changed to being a singer. Then I went from wanting to be a singer to wanting to be an actress (which is still a lifelong dream and desire). Now at 34 years old and soon knocking on 35, I have come to face the harsh yet comforting truth that my plans are no match for God's vision for my life.

I am such a planner to where I try to plan every detail of my life and that of my children. Many of my plans have succeeded but there are also many that have not. While I have at times been utterly disappointed in my plans not coming to fruition... I have learned that not all plans that I have made were for my good especially with me not seeking or including God.

My plans have varied and changed throughout my life but I have come to the point of clarity in seeing that many of my plans lacked value and God's vision which bears the proof of the lack of its fruition. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 19:21 NIV that "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." This scripture further clarifies to me personally that my plans cannot prevail outside of God's vision and alignment. To get to vision... there must be intention which means that we have to be intentional about our plans and the vision of God.

Recently, while on a 21-Day fast, God gave me a vision regarding my future. In that very moment, the vision brought me a sense of excitement but also scared me. God's vision is not a suggestion but is rather a glimpse of a promise and revelation. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 NIV which says "For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This scripture always brings me a sense of comfort and security in my relationship with God because I do not always feel confident on my journey and sometimes lose hope when I get in my carnal way of thinking about the plans and steps in getting to the place of God's purpose and promise for my life.

Today, I am choosing to write about our plans and God's vision because I strongly believe and find conviction in knowing that life is not simply about what we accomplish on our own but what we do and accomplish throughout the will and purpose of God. It is also my belief that in order for us to get to the purpose-driven and purpose-lived life... We must have vision which comes only by way of God for He sees in completion and not in stages and cycles. Vision is God's investment and is God's view but most importantly vision is for victory!

It is very important to note and reference God's vision for your life moving forward because there will be things and people that you will have to leave as you pursue your destiny. Not everyone and everything attached to you now is rooted in or appointed by God for you to be connected to or carry, so please do not lose heart or get discouraged when you realize certain relationships are suffering a decrease in value, space, and time in your life. I have also learned that life is about growing, changing and having balance. Anytime we abort or block any of these important facets of life, we hurt ourselves and potentially delay our blessings and rewards which are meant to be shared with others. After all, if we learn nothing, have nothing and feel nothing... what do we have to share of value? So know and be mindful that it is good and reasonable to have and make plans for your life. Especially if this helps you to maintain and sustain your balance in your personal, professional, home, health, financial and spiritual life but where there is no vision... there is lack. The Bible also says in Hosea 4:6 "That my people perish for lack of knowledge." So seek vision if you do not have it and know that vision grants you hope, instructions and God's sustinence but if you try everything on your own... you may find failed plans and dreams deferred. Seek God... Seek His Vision and allow Him to Sustain you as well as to Secure you. For our plans may sound or seem good but they are no match for God's Vision! God's vision isn't good but it is Excellent and in Whole!

May our lessons be plenty and our journey's be joyous and beautiful!

God bless 😘
